  • Wusik Station V7 (coded from the ground-up)
  • Wusik Fuse Box (finally!)
  • MAC, Linux and Windows 64 support (Juce's framework)
  • Family? Kids? What?

Dear user, we have some BIG news to tell everybody, starting with changes on the company, as we also grow older and our personal life are also changing.

First, a note about me and MoniKe, we are not only trying to have kids but we also filled up adoption papers for up to 3 children - just don't ask why. Wink So our real family will happen soon. Therefore, I'm organizing Wusik in a better way, so it can support our new life. This is a big thing for us, but we are prepared, just need to make sure there's room for everything. We don't have another income, only Wusik and a few web-sites MoniKe makes on the side. Therefore, we need to make sure Wusik is up-to-date in terms of coding and features.

The main BIG change is that, starting today, I will be planning a big move to Juce's framework, which will get us MAC, Linux and Windows 64 support, plus other plugin formats. This is BIG!

Right now, Wusik Station V6 is already based on Juce, at least the main code that allows you to Chain several instances of Wusik Station inside a single load. There are 2 codes, actually: (1) Wusik Wrapper, which is actually Wusik Fuse Box (without all planned features) but hardwired to load only Wusik Station "Child" VST. (2) The Wusik Station "Child" VST, which the main wrapper loads. The first is already totally based on Juce, so we just need to be able to purchase a new compiler and some new hardware and we should have Wusik Fuse Box MAC and 64 bit ready in a few weeks. As for (2), there resides the main problem today, is totally based on an old compiler plus it uses a lot of Assembly code... so here's the plan:

I want to start working on Wusik Station Fuse Box first, them, work on a new Wusik Station V7 "child" code that will be a NEW thing, based on Juce, and having a new code done from the ground-up, its a big job. It may take nearly one year to be completed, but you know me, I want to have it sooner. (tomorrow?!)

All we ask in return is that people believe on us, don't leave Wusik, and support our work whenever possible. Stick around, I'm working hard for things to be better.

We will be adding Wusik Station V7 + Wusik Fuse Box to the current Group-Buy, so everyone can join it too. Also, there's the Wusik Membership which is only $ 9.95 USD a month but help us by getting us a more steady income, which we will need for extra hardware, the new family and our new personal plans.

I already know that some people will complain, some will not understand why I'm saying all this, and some will just not care. But keep in mind that Wusik = WilliamK and MoniKe, most of the time, and we are nearly a public-open-user-driven company, so we are always keeping things clear for the user and we try to be as open and honest as we can. (some private things, of course, we keep it private)

We will keep working on V6 problems, but some things that are related to Windows 7 and 64 bits we will only be able to resolve for Wusik Station V7, we hope that people understand. When we sold V6 it was a 32 bit product and we never promised 64 bit support neither Windows 7 support. We sold the product as it was.

Those who are on the MAC and Linux side, also, please, spread the word around, join the current Group-Buy, we will have a BETA version of Wusik Fuse Box MAC / 64 soon, and after that, Wusik Station V7, you can count on that.

Here's hoping to see everybody happy with this announcement, but I'm pretty sure it will upset a few people too. Please, keep in mind that English is NOT my main language, and that sometimes I mistaken a few words and could even completely ruin a sentence. Embarrassed So keep that in mind before you get angry or upset with this. The main idea here is just to be honest and be sure that everybody is on board.

When Wusik was created, we didn't have a thing, I only had a name and an idea, which turned to be Wusik Station V1 after around 4 months. I wasn't the programmer I am today, so you can count that this time we will have something even better than Wusik Station V6 which will be more up-to-date, compatible with the newest systems possible, and also cross-platform, which is a BIG plus!

In advance, I won't be entering any big debate, I will try to cover any questions with a polite reply, but if people are rude, I won't be able to help much. If you have something serious and negative to say, please, PM me first, to clear things up, before we debate this in public. Please? Thanks in advance.

So, for those who know me already, its not a new thing, William and the Future. I'm a dreamer, so I'm always thinking on what could it be...

More and more music software has grown and get present on most machines, but what's the future for the market? Piracy IS an issue, sadly, and its not something easy to fix, not without some heavy changes in hardware and how things works. The main problem is that freedom would be affected with that, so I doubt companies like Intel and AMD would care about that. And still, I bet small companies would actually suffer from this changes, compared to large-we-have-money-big-bloated companies...

I always loved the idea of creating an adventure game, like the original Myst or something like that. The idea was to make a game with some nice background eerie music and rendered graphics. All static, just like Myst. But I never had the time to complete the idea.

  • [KenHerbst] : Hey William, Here are a few more words of encouragement from another Mac user who joined the group buy some weeks ago. Please take as much time as you need to make a functional OS X version of Wusik 7. (I'd be happy to Beta test for you, too, if you need some help). - Ken Very Happy
  • [another Mac : Hey William,
  • [mike] : ahhh, the new eve update is killer! :-] txs for that wusik people.
  • [Flexstyle] : Finally got my install of Wusik 6 finished (got my lazy arse in gear) and I have to say...this is definitely an awesome way to set off some creativity via one of the thousands of killer patches. Props to you guys, I love it!
  • WilliamK : I'm currently adding a Wusik Station 7 Development Zone area to the site. Uber Geek
  • [mike Lg] : GO MAC! i'm still on windows, but i was looking at a mac notebook and loved it! :-]
  • [WilliamK] : Actually, 128 voices per layer. Surprised
  • [WilliamK] : 128 Notes is the Max number of Voices Smile
  • [guest_8603] : What is the maximum polyphony
  • [German Fafi : The new site is looking great and W6 is a killer.Great job Wusik Team Wink
  • [guest_5792] : I stumbled across Wusikstation by chance after buying Ambient Drums from Nucleus Soundlab. The ambient bundle is an excellent value package with the ArtVera VSTs! Trying to work my way through all the podcasts now to get to know it. Great work William!
  • [Producer] : I just recently heard of Wusik Station and it looks awesome!(Approximately) How many presets does it have?
  • [MoreK] : Greetings from Helsinki! I've been composing music for a radion play recently. I must say Wusik Station has been a great source of inspiration, hats off to the team!
  • [Suecae] : V6 is looking good! Smile

  • WilliamK : I'm working on a new public WS V6 Beta to be released still this week. Cool
  • [Just Me] : Oh, very curious on all this too......!!
  • [Sancha jPW] : Thank you sir Will. Smile
  • WilliamK : Sorry for that, it was my fault, I'm improving that for the next BETA. Embarrassed
  • [Sancha jPW] : btw, I must say that the new version features are really good, specially the new tree-view. But when I close the editor and open it up again, the preset folder I was browsing is no longer there. What gives?! Sad
  • [Sancha jPW] : Its pretty much what I have done with energy xt some time ago, but I'm no longer using it... most hosts uses the scan-organize method which I dislike, so yes, using regular folders is much easier, good idea.
  • [mmike] : txs, rspct, gotta go... :-]
  • WilliamK : Good, yes, since it opens any folder, you could just copy, rename, move your VST DLL files around in any way you want. You can even create file-links to the VST DLL files and rename, move, copy those around. Therefore, you can create any sort of categorization you want. Uber Geek
  • [mmike] : that sounds easy, but how about categorizing and organization of our vsts?! >:-]
  • WilliamK : Ok, here's some info, Geek to load a VST just load a VST DLL file using the tree-view, very simple. Just browse to a VST folder, click on a file, WS asks if you want a new layer for this VST or load on the current location. Also, when creating a new layer, you can load WS or use Add New VST option and it opens up a popup browser selector.
  • [mmike] : come'on dude... you'killing us....
  • WilliamK : You will see... Mr. Green
  • [Sancha jPW] : keep wondering that myself... Confused
  • [mmike] : a q. how will the vst loading be done exactly?
  • WilliamK : I'm still working on it, but should be out a new beta later this week. Geek I'm also improving other things around. After that, I will also be working on a new set of sounds for V6, can't disclose it yet. Embarrassed
  • [Sancha jPW] : Duuuude that rocks my world! but I ask again, WHEN!? Rolling Eyes
  • WilliamK : That's the main idea, yes. And the best part is that you use if you want, it won't bloat Wusik Station in any way. Cool
  • [mmike] : so, from this info we could assume that you plan on turning this into a full chainer?! >:-]
  • [Sancha jPW] : when!? when?!? please? please? Shocked
  • [mmike] : GO WUSIK GO!!! :-]
  • [Sancha jPW] : Surprised
  • WilliamK : Wink Instead of the current Add-New option, you will also be able to use Add-New-VST option, them, you browse your VST folder and load the VSTi you want. For now only synths, but soon, when I introduce the Mixer area, also effects. Them, Wusik Station V6 will have some of the future Wusik Fuse Box options, or maybe even turn into Fuse Box itself. Geek
  • [Sancha jPW] : WOT?!
  • WilliamK : Actually, I'm moving towards Wusik Station V6.2.0 BETA which will feature VST wrapping inside Wusik Station Multi-Preset Chainer. (the new thing on the left)
  • [Sancha jPW] : looking good guys! what's cooking for the next beta?
  • [EricB] : Great look to the new site! I absolutely love Wusik, congrats!! Very Happy
  • [KMan] : UberDelicious! Guys, the new site looks great! >:-]

  • [mike Lg] : great new site. loving the new videos Very Happy
  • [MoniKe] : Welcome! Geek
  • WilliamK : Welcome!
